I am very new to blender, and in the scene I am currently trying to make (a chess board) some of the objects get a weird, granular texture. You can still see the texture (wood) but it has weird black specks. This only occurs on some of my objects, and the specks only show up when ray shadow is on, but thats the only way I know to make shadows. I am using blender 2.4 if that helps. Sorry for all the questions.
it sounds like you have duplicate geometry on these objects
as in, where you thing there is a single face there are actually two at exactly the same spot. This is pretty easy to spot if you’re in wireframe mode with draw faces on [you can see how many meshes you are looking through by the color of the face]
Thanks. I forgot about removing doubles, after that, it looked fine. Thanks a ton. The only thing left is, can anyone tell me how to make the shadows less, extreme, right now, where there is a shadow, its pitch black.
