Can I apply the same rigid body properties to an entire collection? So far what I did is set the rigid body properties in one mesh and the duplicate it several times. Now I would like to change the rigid body properties for all, but when I select all the meshes within my collection it only changes the active mesh. I would like to have an overall property ruling the whole collection since all my meshes suppose to be the same element (lego brick)
Same workflow I am trying to achieve with them material. I am setting one material (red plastic) for my whole collection, but it changes only the active mesh.
I leave the video here of what I am playing around, I would like to stop the bricks oscillating after they cluster as a “sphere”, but the simulation oscillates up and down.
The video worked better with FLOW parameter, some kind of way it works better since add some kind of acceleration, the problem is that I lose the rotation of the cluster which I really like. So I added an empty and parent my bricks to that and then tried to animate the empty in Z axis…but somehow It does not work. Its funny cause it works without the attempt to simulation, If I move/rotate my empty my bricks follow.
Rigid body " Copy from Active" worked fine! The only problem is its not really flexible for tweaking. Since you need to return to that active and tweak from that I imagine. It could be nice just to assign the rigid body properties to a collection and just tweak that. I am sure its possible in some kind of way or someone maybe have some insights how to make the workflow smoother when it comes to several meshes sharing the same properties.
The material link option is great!!! Thanks so much, again here, I think could be nice to have the possibility to assign a material per collection option…It could be really handy no?
Your welcome, in the ctrl l menu there is a collection option. Yeah I just found the rigid bodies to selected option so… For the rigid bodies themselves you might want to try toggling the option under settings in rigid bodies, “animated”. See if it behaves the way you want.
The force field is animated to certain point and the I want it to stop and all the bricks fall to the floor.
I am just not understanding what parameter should I tweak to not get them all stick together.
I’m also learning the physics stuff in Blender. I have found that you can multi select objects and hold down the Alt key while changing a parameter to change them for all selected. This might work for your situation also.
