Quick Toolbox addon for Blender 2.8+

Thanks!

I would personally prefer the prefs to be overwritten, but if you could turn it into options, that would please all users. :+1:

Nice, I will keep it simple- Overwriting the favourites.
Bdw, since there are not many other settings (column number, fav column number, etc), I haven’t implemented exporting the settings. Do you think it’s necessary, exporting the settings also? What’s your opinion about it?

I would welcome saving the settings too, preferably everything in one file, for convenience.

Thanks!

Will it be possible to use shortcut keys similar to zbrush? So open toolbox -> c,b and it selects the clay brush? Or if pressing c by itself automatically filters everything with c?

Nope, its not implemented yet, because there are so many brushes and tools, it’s taking time to do a shortcut for all keys… For now you will need to click on the Alphabets shown in top, which filters the tools and brushes.

Mmm is there no way to automate it? It reads the tools name, grabs the first and second letters and makes a shortcut for them? If not, maybe a middle ground of filtering the letters using the keyboard.

If you use the favourites you can use the underlined letter (as in all blender menus)

Quick bug report:

  • A negative width value can be saved in the settings which leads to that the panel actually shows up with a rational width, but doesn’t show up any tools

I will try this approach, seems to be possible

Yeah, you  can try that.

Thanks for the report, I will fix that. Bdw I added a drop down menu instead of that long row of alphabets when the width of the toolbox is small. Forgot to mention that in the addon

Good luck! I know this is probably how Zbrush works because if you make a custom brush it automatically makes a shortcut key for it.

Thanks  This will be a nice feature

It would be nice if the orientation and the colums readjust their locations when the space is tight. Please see the image for how it looks when the Blender’s own is maximized to the whole screen. It seems like there is no way to slide to the side to reach the rest of the tools.

Hi, thanks for the report. I will see if I can get the width of main Blender window. If I successfully get the width of blender window, then I can solve this issue easily.

To be honest I really hope you will collaborate with the developer of Sculpt Wheel addon to have full compatibility between them. I tried both of them and really like to have Sculpt wheel on a Space, and your Toolbox on alt+Space to have fast access to other brushes and presets.

It works and really great - I don’t need toolbars in sculpt mode anymore, and I can change falloff, stroke and other parameters on a fly.

Thank you for this addon! Waiting for updates with proper global saving custom hotkeys and settings between different files.

Thanks so much for the feedback
Noted all your feedback.

I would love to collaborate in future.

That’s actually a good combination.

Yeah settings are currently global so user change a setting, it will change in all files. I will add local setting if I can in next update.
