Race Track Mountain WIP

Beware : cell phone pics are included due to not having internet… and rendering snapshots and uploading to my phone and etc… takes too long.

I’ll upload high resolution pics when it gets to that point.

This is an island - race track. I want to try n take this one all the way to gameplay.

After a handful of hours - this is what I’ve come up with. Will try to get better pics after the tunnels are finished and the texture paint is done.

I’m not sure how big it should be?

Here’s a random angle I got today with a lot closer perspective.

I have really been struggling with this map.

I’ve basically resulted the mesh 2 more times going through the entire track in the first person perspective (shift+f) … I had a hard time figuring out how I should go about texturing the roads and beach, and the coral mountain pieces.

I also want the entire thing to function in game dev. I thought this was going to be a fairly simple project… after four I came up with a plan.

I’m planning to resculpt for materials, retopo and seperate and then texture the various pieces accordingly… incorporate various particle systems. Bake. Bake. Bake. Reassymble. Rescue poly count and apply created textures for real time. - I think this is the correct process?

Here’s some recent pics. Sorry for the quality. Oh yeah. . I was mistaken about the size. Its like x80 in width…

Im still here!

I decided to go ahead and do a hi-res sculpt and then properly retopo the island based on sections for clean texturing and texture mapping. I’m still finishing all my sculpting in one last pass and messing with textures.

This is a big map… I’ve also been working 60-80 hours a week, and taking classes on udemy for Blender and C++ w/ Unreal… and with a kid on the way - this has become a side project. Bare with me.

Will keep you all string posted ();
