I took blender and used it as a cad program. In this screen shop you will see an idea for a hand crank lathe using deminsiol lumber. Pine Wood. The hand you put you hand on would be made out of 1/4" steel rod. The rest of the model would be wood. The thickest dowel rods would be 1". Followed by 0.5". The thickest wooden blocks would come from a 4x4 lumber. Actuall size 3.5" x 3.5" The other boards would have been made by cutting 2x4 lumber. Actuall size 1.5" x 3.5".
EDIT: I had almost forgotten. The lathe works by having a racthet strap put around it. This puts tension on the turning blank.
Do you guys think this can actually work?
