I have tried making a simple circular array, I have to admit that it was not intuitive to do it for me. I expected something like the original object to be the center (with the possibility of not showing it in viewport/render), set a radius and object count. Currently it depends on the object origin, so you have to move the object in edit mode.
But perhaps the possibilities are greater in the way that this is currently implemented.
I don’t understand technical issues and what are the problems that developers are talking about. Anyway if you ask me I’d rather have it than not have it. Of course, I’m not going to be the one that has to work to maintain the code or deal with bug reports when something gets damaged if the implementation breaks the modifiers stack.
