Radiosity and sphere

I really like Blender radiosity, because this process allows to have a very fast and nice rendering.

I have been working mainly with building though, and when I try to use spheres or curved shape, I cannot manage to have very nicely smoothed faces. I tried the Gouraud shading but it changes nothing.

I have seen in the Plugin demo page on the blender website, that there is a very nice Radiosity sample with a perfectly shaded sphere.

Any help ?

Hi duzoid,

On the right hand side of the Radiosity buttons are the Face Filter and Element Filter buttons, after you have run the radiosity calc and before you replace meshes, press these buttons a couple of times to smooth.

Also I found that once you have replaced meshes and freed the Radio data, do not set the new mesh smooth, just render.

Hope this helps,

Sonix.

Make sure to select “set smooth” in the edit buttons for the smooth objects BEFORE running the radiosity solution. This gets taken into account while the solution is being baked on the new mesh, so it must be done before meshes are collected.

Thanks guys !!
