ragnar the viking

i think the head looks abit too short to be honest, just try elongating it abit. other than that absolutly amazing. i am really loving the detail on the axe.

Wow, Iā€™m loving watching the development of this character. The detail is great, the porportions seem logical, and the textures are perfect.

tweaking and fifling as i go

peace.

still alot of things i need to do, tweaking the model, finding better textures (chain mail mostly) and also lighting, but still hopefully the pose gives the idea of what im aiming forā€¦though im not even 100% sure what im aiming for :spin:

oh, and a pic of the alternate weapon (might do a shield aswell)

The handle of the sword looks a bit stubby, maybe make it longer. The suit iwesome, but I donā€™t think the face and hair is as good as the rest. But that looks awesome.

this is amazing. great job!

that looks pretty sweet! it would be so cool if you could have him chop something in halfā€¦:eyebrowlift:

awesome model! great stuff pork.

good luck with the house-hunting.

Very, very, very nice work. The only thing I can see wrong with it are the sword handle (already mentioned). Also if you are using this as the ā€œfinalā€ pose, you might want to relax the fingers on the left and just a bit.
Great overall though. Iā€™d love to see this in a scene.

I disagree. For the style of sword youā€™d expect a viking to use, the handle is more or less perfect.
The blade may be a tad long, though.

Looks great. The axe and armor are really good. Iā€™d bump up the AO samples for the final render and maybe turn down AO power if your setting it to add/subtract light). That will eliminate the really dark spots and smooth out the noise from the AO pass. Keep up the good work.

thanks for the comments, i havnt changed much of the model, just been tryin to sort out the texturs ( the chainmail was the main culpret), and the hair, which i am still strugeling with.
started to make a shield too.

totally sick man.

good luck with that hair. maybe try just a texture map.

the shield and the overall progress so far. im still havin some trouble with the hair after tryin everythin, so i went back to particles, a slight improvment i think, but will keep workin on it hopefully.
oh, and a shot from another view, which shows off a fair few blemishes unfortunetly, will sort them too when i have time.

This is incredible. The only thing I would do different is make him a bit larger compared to his weapons. But the reason that ā€œIā€ is in bold is because that is preference really. Are you going to animate him? Please do.

yet more renders ive been doin instead of uni work (they wont let me use blender, i have to use 3D max ). only really been working on lights and scene. its gettin there though.

anway, will redo the hair one last time, however ill do it in the style below (kinda dredloch brade kinda thing.)

I love it - models, textures, poseā€¦ Everything!

Only the sash thing, on his shoulders looks a bit too clean and tight.

Yeah, actually, now that you mention it, it does. Hey, though, if youā€™re looking for a good one, see if you canā€™t colourize one of these. :]

The rest of it is looking great, keep working. Love the dynamic of the pose.

Hey! looking really good!
His feet kinda bug me though, they seem to just kinda taper to a point.
Maybe if you give the toes some moreā€¦ substance?
I really like how itā€™s goinā€™ though!
Keep it up.
