I liked the cartoony look of the face, however, after that- the body didn’t look so good. It seems as if you are attempting to capture realism by modeling the chest and stomach mucles, yet overall your character looks like a cartoon.

Decide. Is it to ba a cartoon character? Or is it to be a photorealistic hybrid character?

Then, once you have decided, you will need to get references off the internet of what ever type of character you are trying to create. Be it realistic or cartoony, the internet is a great way to get references.

Also you will need to get rid of that material. Your best bet is to give him a light brown material with no specularity until you’re ready to UV map and texture him (although it might be easier for you to just vertex paint him, alot easier in fact, I wouldn’t worry about uvmapping just yet)

Your basic shape fo the character is OK. If he’s to be a cartoon- he can be any shape you want him to be, but if he’s to be realistic, you will need to carefully model him realisticly using anatomy references.

Keep it up

It is true that he is a cartoon. when it came to the body I was making it for practice and i was aiming for a skinning cartoon look but i wondered how realistic i could get the body. The whole thing was made by accident. as for uv mapping and adding materials to it; that to was an experiment with the lights/spec shade. what im planing to do is add fur to the body so im going to lose the look of the body but ill keep the shape after i will animate it to walk around and listen to music.

-adding thick Brown highlighted fur
-adding pupils
-adding shoe strings to the model
-adding ears
-adding teeth
-getting rid of the colors applied so far
