Random value per linked faces within a Mesh-Object ?

Based on this Matervariation Method and this Floor Generator I would like to generate random values for HUE, SAT and VAL per board.

In this you see a method doing this per Mesh-Object.
But the Floor Generatorgenerates Tiles/Planks withing one Object.

This question is:
Is it possible to generate random Material values per linked vertices within a Mesh-Object ?

If not then the other question is:
How can I “explode” a Mesh-Object into it’s linked faces ?
