reduced outer brow back. And used global lighting instead of two suns.
little stuff – raised outer edge of cheekbones. lowered brows a bit. Lowered the eyebrows, a bit
Increased hair density of foremost forehead scalp hair group.
Thickened the jaw muscle region. Inclined nose tip down more. And pulled the inner corner of the eye out forward mod more.
cleaned up the neck distortion,
adjusted the neck line of the t-shirt
created the hunter tunic mesh over the t-shirt
toned down the world lighting to hel minimize wash out of deta
Other than that, nothing new

pulled center of brow out more, widened chin, abit. changed angle of intersection between cheek plane and cheek muscles. 'hair vplume reduction to rear of skull
Nuff for now.
PS… Viggo is getting in the zone.

refined chin …
This is a circling back to the likeness and lighting in post #64. Some tweaks to chin structure, lower mandible, and cheek planes…
the nose is a bit too bulbous, but the overall look is there.

Gorgeous. I’d like to see a bow string, though.
I’d recommend changing the perspective so that you’re looking up at him, cause right now it feels really unnatural. The lighting is also a bit off, it feels like you have an emission shader on the stone. Are you using a sun?
Bernander - That was kind of surprise. I figured this work was considered off the grid, too long in the making. Really appreciate the feedback. I wondered about the bowstrng. I figured most scouts would leave it unstrung until needed.
Skoldelid - same response. real surprise anyone responded. I agree with the perspective change for the final shot. Absolutely. I was taking various profiles to check the geometry and planes of his face. And yeah, the lighting is funky. I’m using the background shader with an HDRI, unclamped as the source. No emission shader from the stone. I 'll do a comparison shot with background HDRI environmental shader vs a sun illuminated shot.
And thanks for the reply and recommendations.
errant post … new image below
more a 3/4 frontal shot coupled with more upward camera angle.
Illum is .7 world illum vs `1.2 in previous. combined with and overhead sun, strength 2.6 for harder shadows

took away the world illumination. instead used a single overhead sun (strength 4) with 2 emission planes forward.
Hands are placeholders. I have better hands with better skin texture - I’m posing them separately.

Yeahhh, added back in environmental background - .3 …
And darkened hair, by unsaturating the browns

A newer image. changed the camera angle to 3/4 front - looking up at subject.
Changed the lighting. one overhead sun, only about 10 degrees off from vertical.
A second sun forward at a lower angle to illuminate under the brows. Also added a rim light sun behind right shoulder. Plus a hemi light down low to drive out shadows under the jaw. I also pulled the chin tip in a bit more.
I also committed heresy in Doris’ world by lowering the eyes. typically a no-no in sculpting. But I like the proportions and relation to the nose bridge and brow better. I also angled down the brow towards the outer corners of the eye more.
Additionally, I went back to using a simpler eye material, with diffuse textures as a place holder. As currently I’ve been using much higher resolution eyes with transparent membranes. But the high res eyes render out very dark - difficult to illuminate without blowing out the face, So I have to find a work-around for the finished image later. Like with Viggo’s hands which I’ll also do later.
I can say he’s looking pretty Striderish now
Another slightly more profile shot. cleaned up little stuff.
Looking at the earlier shot, I like that lighting and coloring better than my latest. Oh well.
Changed the camera angle back up, tweaked brows, smoothed out eye pouches under bottom lid, adjusted lighting to get more shadowing on left side of head
shaped out lower lip, adjusted temple planes. Rounded the transition from temple to crown more. reduced the volume of eye brow bones. created a little more arch in eyebrow hair mesh.
lowered cheekbone plane. Raised the hairline, some…
