rated PG???

I read about this contest:

Can anyone tell me what does “rated PG” means.

Parental Guidance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Guidance

long live over regulation

thank you…

It’s the second lowest Movie rating that means “parental guidance” suggested. This term is also used in English as slang to mean that the movie (or other noun) is meant for kids.

G = General Audiences (little kid movies)
PG = Family movies, parents might have to explain some things to the kids. Some parents won’t let their kids watch these - most parents will though.
PG13 = recommended for those 13 and older
R = Adult content but not really really bad
X = Pornos, super gruesome stuff like “Faces of Death”

You left out NC-17 = No Children Under 17

Also, I don’t consider it over regulation. As a parent it is a handy way to sort of ballpark content. I still use my own discretion and monitor what my kids watch, but it is helpful without being heavy handed.
