Ray Marcher - Volumetric Renderer

Just looking at a few volumetric render engines for various apps. Many are simply shading plugins.

Sorry for the daft question, but with code exsisting for a Ray Marcher in C or C++, can it be incorporated in a Python plugin ? Or is it possible to port the code from a Ray Marcher created for another app ?
