That’s what happens when a forum is inundated with spammers. We had 5 try to sign up last week alone, prompting the “pop quiz.” Fortunately there are several sites where I can check the email and IP addresses of these things (that’s how we spot them).
Since we’ve made that change, we’ve had no spammers. So the problem appears solved.
What’s the answer to the pop quiz anyways ? I typed in an obnovious answer, since I don’t know much about pop music and well … the proverbial water balloon hit my face right on.
i went to sign up for the sound design and was dumbstruck by the question as well (i don’t know a lot about the “terminator” movies except for the amount i have watched [which isn’t very much])
Been awhile but we’ve got another site update, with a few new images of Summer Glau. We still very much need animation help and anyone who can texture map for Blender. Basic modeling for Episode 1 is 60% complete but we’ve got a backlog of untextured models. Contact us at [email protected] if you’re interested.
Hi guys. Another update for the project has been posted. We’re still looking for another texture mapper. We’ve added a couple of character modelers. You’ll be seeing their draft work next month.
We also need another sketch artist for storyboard work and/or concept art. If you want to draw for us, by all means contact us!
Well, we still have some roles that need casting. Most of the main Resistance characters have voices already, as you can see from this list (http://www.terminatorcc.com/?page_id=115). Mr. Domino, our Sound Manager, is currently voicing John Connor but we’re looking for a replacement who sounds more like Thomas Dekker. Contact him at [email protected] and send him some voice samples if you’re interested.
Hi gang. Another NEWS update on the site. Most of our voice cast is full now. We still need help from anyone willing to do Concept Artwork (it’s all battle scenes from the Future War; if that doesn’t get your creative juices flowing…);
Hi guys. Another NEWS update on the site. We need a character modeler to help out. Right now we’ve got just the T-800 and a Summer Glau model completed. Couple of announcements coming next month too…
Looks amazing!
Those models are so detailed, nice work!
(BTW with such a huge project wouldn’t it be good to ask permission from the owners of terminator? Just in case.)
We actually contacted the managers of the fan productions for Star Trek Phase II, Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum, and Bat In The Sun Productions for advice about the matter. The producers of The Hunt For Gollum and Bat In The Sun specifically told me that as long as our group seeks no profit from the endeavor, the studios won’t give us a problem. That’s why this is going to remain a volunteer production, though we will start taking donations in 2012 (in order to commission artwork, purchase models and textures as needed).
@KalenJohnson
Yes, we still need a texture artist. We’ve got a large backlog of objects from 3DS max that need to be textured (mostly weapons and furniture).
If anyone wants to help in any way, modeling, texturing, rigging, we’d like you on the team. The only thing we ask is that you maintain contact. No registering, introducing yourself, then disappearing without a word for 2 months, please :).
For the record, if you want to help, go ahead and register (but be sure to contact our email address at [email protected] first and introduce yourself, we’ve had a problem with spammers and bots registering so we need to know who’s who).
Hi gang, back with another news update. Our Summer Glau model is actually finished, and there are two versions of it.
We actually need this model, and the T-800 model, rigged for use in Blender, so if anyone’s willing to do this for us, we’d really appreciate it. Also, we still need a texture mapper. If you want to texture an HK-VTOL, we’ve got a model designed already, so please contact us at [email protected] (or send me a private message here).
Hey guys, back with another update. Our John Connor and Kyle Reese models are nearing completion. Here’s a draft image of our Kyle Reese model (based on the actor Jonathan Jackson, who played him on the show). This model was made as a mesh in Blender and then imported into Zbrush for sculpting.
.
We still need someone who’s willing to rig models. With the John Connor and Kyle Reese models, this makes a total of 4 character models we’ll have completed. Also, we need a few objects textured, such as our HK-VTOL. That’s specific needs. But if you want to help out period, just contact us.
