I cant seem to find any anywhere, I have a book, the essential blender, but it dosent cover retopology tools.
I need a comprehensive guide that explains the tools and process, does anyone know where such a tutorial exists?

I found the following to give you a good overview:
Top tip use X-Ray when using the retopo tool. You
can find it under Object (F7) in the Draw panel.
