REAL Fear: The Quicky Sharpener

Fear. The most basic instinct of any creature. One that helps us to survive. That helps us be cautious. That makes it impossible to talk to that girl you really like even if your friends think its lame that she beats you at video games…
Not to be specific…

Fear.

I did my very best to capture that feeling in this image. Be warned, if youve had a drink in the last 24…

Just a bit of fun, played around this evening. Any crits welcome, let me know what you think

Peace

PS Yes, I know its unplugged, if it really bugs you, then get a life…

That is HILARIOUS and it rocks. Except that the metal part of the pencil needs work. Looks wrong IMO.and the metal pins of the plug are too "round. but other than that its really good.

I love it lol! Super funny! Hmmm…maybe I should put a face to my pen…great job!

thanks guys.
@Borgy:Ha, yeah, the metall is a little strange what with the toony characters. The rounded prongs actually look better than more hard edged, I checked
@cloudy(with a chance of meatballs): thanks man  One thing I like about the image is that I managed to get it to look good wihtout an AO(I always like my images better with it, this time…)so, its sort of a breakthru…
And it took minimal nodes work…

Peace, keep the comments comin!
Drew

Lol, one of the few people who know the famous story “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” where hamburgers and peas fall from the sky! Woot! 2 cool points!

Hey, I was a kid once.
wait, I still am…

Oh yeah, BTW(sorry for the double post)

Blender Internal, about 1min wiht threads enabled.
Post pocessing to give it tha bluish tinge, plus some node work for the DoF

Peace
Drew

Really nice render

Thanks guys. It actually didnt turn out so bad, considering it was only an hour or so of work…
Thanks
Drew

Oh yeah, be sure to vote(honestly of course :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

Your shiny metal materials need work, otherwise great work.

agreed, thanks man

Could use some better lighting, it’s a bit too dark, and as mentioned, your shiny things are way too shiny.

A great project for the amount of time it took you to do this!

I never want a sharpener like that… ever

Suggestion: Woodchips stuck between the teeth and maybe a red pencil crayon “bleeding” nearby.

Likes: I laughed. (Extremely important!) The expressions on the faces are priceless. The pencil colour is very realistic. The brand name of the sharpener is cute.

Dislikes: The plug doesn’t look metal or “angry” enough. If I had half your talent, I’d consider making it look thinner and a tad more metallic, even slightly oxidized. And as a minor quip, usually the metal part for the eraser is brass-coloured, not shiny, and has ridges.

Very funny work. Thank you for sharing it!
T

Very good, except the piece feels really crowded and it’s hard to know what to focus on. To much happenin.
But excellent none the less!

@fuzzy and Wanted bob: thanks guys, too true
@thanglin: yeah, it was kind of half@$$ work, just for the heck of it  but thanks
@redbyte: thanks man, it was purposefully crowded. trying to catch that " lots going on, look out!" kind of thing…

At everyone, thanks for all the crits(cant believe this thing actually got a rateing  )

Peace
Drew
