I began to map a head (the head of my head-tut : https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10518) in order to do a facial animation. It’s the first time I map a human head… It’ll progress and look better in the end of course !
I just wanna prove to Kos that my head will be great and the facial animation will be correct !
I spend the whole night armaturing the head and doing tests, this morning I done the mapping…
But the mapping isn’t good enough :-?

For such a nice head model I think he deserves proper textures. Sorry to be so negative, but thats awefull. :o
Perhaps bring the texture map into somthing like Photoshop, correct the image and fix it up with some nice spec and bump maps. Also, Please UV map it correctly! ack…
The model itself is great though, just work on those textures!

I do think it is fantastic, but i still feel i have a few crits ot make ot improve this (possibly) amazing model…
First of all, he looks ver boxy… I.E., i can see lots of straight lines (especially on eye lids) turn up the sub division to 2 or 3 for rendering… secondly, i think you are relying a little too ehavily on texture for the eyes, and should consider doing pixar style eyes. also, try out some of the new sub surface scattering mimics that have been floating around the boards…

Yes you’re right… I keep a x1 subdivision for the render to do the tests and I forgot to turn up to 3…

it’s a pixar style eye… I like the pupil, but I think the white of the eye is too bad… It’s due to the fact that is was not real enough with the original presets, the head was too realist compared to the eyes… so i tryed to make them more dark… the result isn’t very good…
