Realistic sun?

i have a question on making a sun i am trying to make a sun close up in space and i want it to explode like a super nova. i just need to capture that sun close up with the sun flares and etc whats the best way to capture that image?

heres an image that i was thinking up like the ‘charge up’ before the big explosion.

One way to do it is to add a halo spot pointing directly at the camera. Play with halo step. Also change spot size increaseing will make sun grow. This is one way. Just play with the setting until you get something you like.
