Really Basic

On the blender.org website in the download section, windows bit there is two options ‘Blender Installer’ and ‘Blender Archive’ whats the difference/pros or cons of each they both seem to work for me but was just wandering.

Thanks

Basically: Blender Archive is just a .zip file where you unzip and then run the application, Blender Installer is an .exe where you run the .exe and it runs like a regular install(start menu shortcut, where to install, registry…). The advantage for the install is that all you will have to do is just double-click on the .blend file to open the project you are working on. The advantage for the .zip archive is that you don’t need admin rights to put it on the computer to run.
