That grey block that is always there when you start a new page? How do you get rid of that? I can’t for the life of me… Well, anyway, can someone tell me how to delete it?
Right click on the cube and press the delete key. Then press ctrl+u to prevent it from showing up next time you start Blender.
Btw, I reccomend getting familiar with the interface. wiki.blender.org should help.
You just delete it and saves a default (ctrl u) thats if you by blog means box ofcause?
Oh my, thank you. I tried right clicking, but no menu came up. But pressing the delete key… Blender really forces you to mingle keyboard and mouse, eh? Efficient. Thanks.
It certainly does, although you could also go to the Object menue (having the Object selected, in Object mode, obviously) -> Delete.
But yeah, if you know your way around Blender’s hotkeys you will appreciate the time you used to learn them. It is worth it.
The cardinal rule for Blender is “One hand on the keyboard, the other on the mouse”.
When I was learning I found an abbreviated list of the most important Blender commands at some tutorial site. I printed it out and taped it to the wall next to the computer. It helped me memorize them.
Do you see the Help button at the top of blender? Click it and look at all the available help there, incuding the hot keys.
You really need to start with a beginners tutorial, if you couldnt figure out how to delete an object. You can find many in the file below.
