Realtime problems with VSE in 2.49a

For some reason it seems that real time video editing is not working for going backwards in 2.49a, instead the video kind of gets stuck (in the RAM) and then all of a sudden jumps backwards…

First I thought something is wrong with my footage, but when I try editing with 2.48a I get real time playback as before (using right/left arrow for going back and forth for finding the in/out points).

Is this a (known) bug and/or is there a workaround…? If it is a bug I’d like to report it, the last “classic” Blender should not have video editing problems, that would be too frustrating…!

Linux, mac or windows?

Are you using the latest 2.49a with avi fix if on windows?

Sorry… I’m under Ubuntu 8.04 using

blender-2.49a-linux-glibc236-py25-i386 - not working as expected in the VSE for going back in real time and

blender-2.48a-linux-glibc236-py25-i386 - working as expected for going back in realtime
