Recruiting for game development (Project Hellena)

Getting together a team of big boys and girls, the brightest, to develop, something that we may have dreamed more than once: creating a world, it is not easy, but not impossible. Imagine a project made by ourselves, forged for ourselves, which is alive thanks to us, to be remembered over years, for their quality and strength in spending, would be more than a dream. To do this, we will develop a video game, a masterpiece, putting great effort into it, showing that we, a group of people, with great effort, to achieve something truly memorable. I can not do it alone, nor can any of us, this is a work of joint effort and cooperation, something that not everyone can achieve. I need the support of large bright minds, dreamers and continuing to make this project

In this project, anyone can enter and help create it. Will choose a group to form the body of the project and will always accept more. Work with free applications to demonstrate their potential. I have in mind the powerful tool UDK and Blender, which will decide there. The rest (story, gameplay, full game) will be decided together, because there is nothing planned in advance. We will focus on creating a work of art, emotion, powerful and great character.
I count on your support. If you want to enter the group of this great international project, go to the “Recruit Room” from the tabs above and follow the instructions.

Thank future colleagues … Demonstrate who we are.

I can’t put the webpage of our game, but you can add me to our mail:

THIS IS A SERIOUS WORK

yeah, yeah…

is this a paid position?
if not, I doubt you’ll find anyone experienced wanting to join.

a place in the credits isn’t nearly enough to get people motivated to help…especially from someone who hasn’t shown any ability to finish similar projects

THIS IS A SERIOUS WORK

Which would be more believable if you weren’t asking for… well, almost every role in a game development team.

Perhaps more so if you didn’t obviously copy/paste this from somewhere else (“If you want to enter the group of this great international project, go to the “Recruit Room” from the tabs above and follow the instructions.”?)

And finally there is the desire to be using a highly commercial (and expensive for “serious work”) engine in UDK with Blender - a pairing I haven’t really seen anything from (not to say it isn’t possible, but we’re talking about “serious work” here, track histories help).

You may indeed be serious and simply made a very bad post for showing that. On the other hand, it could simply be another person (or two) with an idea that will waste people’s time. There is a reason for the post above Uncle Entity refers to and it’s as much for your benefit as it is ours.

We have at least 12 persons working for this project.
I can’t put the web page of the project.
We’ll make it free, o the opposite. We’ll see that later.

What, this web page?

Yeah, that web page.

If you have 12 already working on the project, please post their names and emails. Twelve people is enough for a project. Personally, I wouldn’t want to work with any more than that for a beginning, preliminary project.

Um, a single post on a free WordPress blog is not really what people talk about when asking for a website. The seriousness is not proven by taking the five minutes you need to setup a blog, it is proven by some effort in perhaps filling that blog with progress (screenshots, engine milestones, hiring/recruitment announcements, etc) and something more about the project like genre (real-time strategy, rpg, first-person shooter, etc) and influences (is it sandbox style like the GTA series or scripted horror like Silent Hill).

Hell, I have a real website with proper domain, cms setup, email addresses, etc. I don’t classify it a serious website until such time as I put something of note up on it. A hiring / recruitment request is not “of serious note” to me (or others considered “professional”).

On the other hand, we can see where the copy/paste context is from now. Mentioning the language barrier might be an idea too.

you can try your luck here http://blenderartists.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=40

Not another one!

I can’t give emails. That’s private.
But I can say: we have three programmers, two persons that work on UDK, three writers, and one game developper.
But no one works in Blender, and that’s the problem
We won’t pay for this work, we are doing it for the love to the art.

Ok, if not emails, then how about names? Who are your three programmers, three writers, and one game developer. On the web, you pretty much can get anyones e-mail address if you know their name, so it’s not exactly private information.

A word of advice - show some work first, beyond sketches and empty words.
It took 2 years to make Steel Storm Episode I to shape up into 96% finished game, before we asked for help.

A better solution is to let this go, I know as well from being on 2 teams now, that lone wolf is better…and this guy, although completely delusional, and unprepared doesn’t seem to be hurting anyone…so the best thing said here is nothing at all.

Thanks for All.
My team is complete.
