Hey everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the correct place for this type of posting, and I apologize if it isn’t, but this is the best place I’ve seen so far to start. Now to business…
I’m working on a project for a new animated series, and I’m looking for more people to begin as volunteers. It is a stylized animation project (for two reasons: to cut down on development time, and to make it more cartoon-ish) and the scripts written are in the vein of an adult swim series. (mainly aqua-teen and sealab) It is definately not an attempt to mimic these shows, but to create a new set of characters and an entirely new story.
So far for this project I am the creator, lead animator, and head writer. I have help on the writing and the sound, but I’m hoping to find a few people capable enough to let me pass on the lead animation duties. I have some of the modeling done, but due to the time my final year of school is taking up I am having trouble doing all this work on my own.
I’m hesitant to put up too many details about the story and characters just yet, but if anyone is interested in finding out more about this project please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to tell you more. Also, if there is any work of yours that you would like me to see please send that as well. I’d like to get a group of people together with styles that mesh well in order to create a memorable series.
Last thing I would like to do with this post is explain just exactly what I meant earlier by the graphic style of the cartoon. It will be something that is obviously a 3D animation to the viewers, but it will be something that I could try describing as a darker toy-story tone. The animation will be second in importance to the writing, because as some movies have shown, beautiful animation without good writing doesn’t mean quality.
If you’re interested I’d be happy to talk more with you. I will put up a website for this soon with more details about the actual project once I feel that it is the most necessary next step. Thanks for taking the time to read through all this.
Take it easy,
Anthony
