Red box around character in Eevee renders

Has any one had an issue with a red box around their characters in Eevee?

It happens in both the Look Dev and the renders. It flickers when I rotate around or move things in the interface. I’m using a 980M and my drivers are up to date. I suspect it may have something to do with the sub surface scattering.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Can you take a screen of it, or even better send a file?

Did you manage to find what object casues it?

Here is a screenshot of it in the look dev view, its less strong in the renders but still there.

Thanks for the reply.

diable all objects one by one to fins out which one is causing it

To me it looks like you connected something to volumetrics socket

In your screen is says you are using cycles. is it also visible in the cycles renders?

I was switching back and forth between cycles and eevee. It don’t effect cycles renders, only the eevee previews and renders. This is a model from Daz using the Daz Importer by Thomas, there is indeed a node in the volumetrics, I’ll try disabling it and see if that has any effect.

I could send a file, though with the textures packed it may be quite large. What are the file size limits to attach a file to the post?

Yup, that was the cause!

I disabled all of the shaders volumetric nodes, and it displays properly now. The only thing is it disabled the sub surface scattering effects I was getting. It’s a volumetric absorbtion node.

There is subsurface scattering shader so you don’t need to use volumetrics for those. It is also part of Principiled BSDF.
As far as i know eevee volumetrics is limited only to the boundy box of the object, not its geometry. Thats why you had this box around the character and thats also why you should not use volumetrics in eevee for details.

I have it up looking good now, the sss works in the renders. The materials are written automatically by the importer. I’m still getting to know eevee and have a lot to learn!!!

Thank you so much for your help, I greatly appreciate it!
