Finished this one the other night. What do ya reckon?
nice. how were the jetstreams done?
Pretty good. I like the intresting plane concept, and those cool looking jetstreams. My main crit would be that it lacks motion blur and dof, which would add a lot to the picture.

jet trails were done with cloud tex, halo & particals. Might try the motion blur next time but whats dof?
depth of field.
ever seen a picture where something in the foreground is clear, and sharp, but the stuff in the back is all blurry? tahts dof.
Its a very nice model you have there.vgreat job on it. The title threw me off, i was expecting a real squid lol. The trees are very nice too, any tips on how you made them? The landscape could use a better more detailed picture as we can see the pixels when we get close to it, notably in the first image.
But overal its a very nice scene, so …Awesome Job
But in Blender, unless you use Yafray, it is a cheat to fake it. It would be nice if Blender had a real depth of field in it.
the enviroment needs some work. vehicle looks pretty good.
yea i was expecting a real squid too…
good model-
i dont tihnk it looks verry central to the image though- maybe make it bigger, so you can see it in more detail too… the environment looks a bit flat due to the lighting- maybe need more emphasised shadows?
nice job on the texturing jet trails too
I hope you don’t mind, but I pulled your image out in Photoshop got this:

And then did some color grading:

For the DOF I simply used the blur tool, and then the lasso tool and motion blur filter for the blur on the ship and it’s reflection. Then added a lense flare and blured it. I color graded it via a transparent “color” layer and adjusting the color balance.
Hope this helps,

Very nice work. I like the scenery and the speed feeling. I especially love the blue things behind the plane
really well done.
The water is okay too.
Hey thanks everyone for your input. Working on a render with dof.Oh & why squid, the ship had a marine feel to it.
Hold on, why don’t you just render it with motion blur? Probably won’t need the depth of field thing then if you move the camera to folow the ship as everything else will be blur.
could we get a render of just the plane? It looks cool, and I want to see the texturing.

Ok tried dof using motion blur & tracking of an empty within the squid.A little better aye!
Except now your clouds are mucked up.
If you could add ripples (http://www.refocus-now.com/Stock/Travel/images/Boat%20ripple%20water%20lake%20s.pilkington.jpg) behind the plane to the water, I think it would complete the scene. Heh, however, I agree with Jeeves that the sky needs to be fixed.
Good work,

Tried a close up also
What does the sky need?
The clouds get warped in the one that you posted at the bottom of page 1, compared to the first one you posted.
That’s a very nice effect on the glass. Though I’m wondering why, while everything else is kind of pointed, there are squares on the yellow part of the texture for the squid. Would it be possible to get a front view?
