Reduce fps of animation whilst using a Movie Texture

Hey guys. My original plan was to decrease the fps of my animation from 24fps to 12fps, cutting the total render duration in half at the cost of giving the animation a more ‘stop-motion’ feel. However, I’m using a Cycles movie texture in conjunction with the animation, and as far as I know, this causes the movie to move at a slower rate, looking broken and causing it to go completely out of sync with the movies’ applicable sound in the VSE.

Is there any way to prevent the movie from changing its frame rate, or would the only option be to set the fps back to 24fps?

Is this a Bump I see?

Just thought of this: Make the framerate of the video 12 fps with some sort of video converter or you can even use blender’s video sequence editor.
