reference images disapperaing in UV editor/ Tris question

Hello out there
after an unidentified number of clicks/ vertex selects (around 10 or so) my reference image(s) simply disappear in the UV Editor:eek:… someone had the same Problem before??? what have I done wrong this time???

and what is the Tris (174) stand for??I have not a single Tri in my mesh…

When you object is triangulated it will have 174 triangles. This is useful to know since game engines and the blender renderer work only with triangles.

Same happens when you drag&drop image to Blender (Background image), add plane, set its align to view.
You can fix it by making background image fake user.
