Reflecting stars?

I’m playing with blender from time to time these days… is it just me, or do stars fail to show up in raytraced reflections? Env maps aren’t really high-resolution enough to be a viable alternative, either.

Any advice?

then you need to use textured planes [perhaps dupliverted?] instead of halos

YUp stars are a postpro feature, they are not there at raytracing time


raising the cuneres value in the envmap setting will make the envmap rsolution higher.

I find that even the maximum cuberes is not high enough… otherwise I would use it. I guess I’ll look into making a spherical texture for my sky.
