Reflection? why does it look so crappy?

Hi, I’m trying to make something shiny but not reflective. do you see what im sayin?
See how the fsh is shiny but not reflecting anything. Its like its floresent. How can i reproduce that look in blender?

Play with (boost) specularity and hardness settings in the material of the object, as well as the specularity colour. It will also depend on the general lighting setup and indeed the geometry of the object itself as to where you see specularity on the object.

Check out this old release log for version 2.33, which includes settings for an iridescent material using distorted noise textures. There is a .blend file at the top of that page. Pre-nodes indeed!
