it seems that reflection depends on the texture region. ie using only a small texture region decreases reflection. Is there any way to avoid such?

you can control the Specular or diffuse reflection in F5 fro 2.49
but also you avhe the Hardeness value that can affect this spec reflec
and if you need more control you can always add a reflection map on you object
so depends what you mean
can you give a pic to show this effect and waht your explain more what you want to achieve ?

look at the dashboard: The middle region has been cut out and gives much more reflection using the same material etc. settings.
Now I want the other part of the dashboard to get such a reflection as well. Tried hardeness etc. all without luck.
