Is there a hotkey to refresh textures in Blender 4.2?
- I tried LMB in the shader view then Alt + R, but it did not refresh the texture.
Is there a hotkey to refresh textures in Blender 4.2?
Alt+R is correct.
When enabled, a message will be displayed below.
What do I need to enable?
The translator translated it stupidly.
It means that when you run Alt+R, a message will be printed.
This shortcut only works in the material editor and can be checked in the keymap.
This was on by default
But Blender does not refresh the texture.
Do I need to click on something special in the shader view before I press Alt + R?
There is no need to select or set anything else.
All you need to do is press Alt+R and the message will be printed. blender 4.2.5
If this problem is a bug, it will be solved with a version update.
Alternatively, there might be an Addon that shares the key value.
That “Reloaded images” message does not come up for me.
But there was no “Reloaded images” message and the texture did not reload.
I guess I will wait til the next version update. I don’t want to keep buying Add-ons.
Interesting, re-opening the Blender file reloads all the textures. I can use that to reload my textures.
I’m not asking you to buy an Addon, it’s possible that the Addon you’re using may share the key value.
(There is a little problem in conveying meaning because it is using a translator. )
Create a new project, create a scene that uses only one image, and see if Alt+R works.
How to check for setup issues . (blender initialized)
C:\Users\XX\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\4.2
Move the folder in the path to a different location and run the blender to check.
If there is no problem with this method, there may be a problem with the settings.
Restore the folder you moved and run the blender to confirm.
If there is a problem, just move the config folder and run the blender to check.
Also, if there is no problem, it is one of the 2 files in the config folder.
If the userpref file in the config folder is a problem, you need to delete it and reset the blender setting again.
You could try and see if the Reload Textures Button works inside Node Wrangler N-Panel in the node editor…
I have Performance Overly from NVidia so Alt + R doesn’t work for me, but the Button does.
May I ask, in Blender 4.2 where I can find the Reload Texture Button in the N-Panel?
I turned on the Node Wrangler Add-on and popped open the N-panel, but I do not see the Reload Texture button.
Right now I have 4.2.2LTS, In your shader editor open up the N-Panel and navigate to the Node-Wrangler Tab…You must have image-texture nodes in your material…
May I ask, how do I get Node Wrangler to show up in the N-Panel?
I’m using 4.2.4
I have Node Wrangler turned on the the preferences. And I restarted Blender.
I have opened my Shader Editor and selected the image texture node.
But I don’t see the Node Wrangler tab in the N-Panel.
It is in sidebar of Node Editor. Not in sidebar of 3D Viewport.
