Regular Dope vs. Pose Dope (in Blender)

I am going to ask this question - or make this point - again, because I have new insight.

Again… from the beginning…

  1. The Object Version

On your screen you can see a Dope Sheet and a 3D Viewport. The viewport has a few objects and you have 1 of them selected.

Every 30 frames you move the object and set keyframes. And everything os OK.

You decide to adjust the key frames in the Dope Sheet. When you are done, your selection in the viewport is still selected.

  1. The Armature Version

In the 3D Viewport you have an armature in pose mode and 1 of the bones is selected.

Every 30 frames you move the bone and set keyframes. And everything os OK.

You decide to adjust the key frames in the Dope Sheet.

HOWEVER:
When you are done, your selection IS NO LONGER selected.

The Question(s):
Is this just an odd quirk of Blender?
Or something that annoys everyone but just gets swept under the rug?
Or - is it a bug?

Just moved this post from “Basics and Interface”.

Will report as bug in 24 hours if no replies.

Thanks y’all.

The developers have determined that I have reported a “known issue”.

It has been a “known issue” since Feb. 2020.

Oh well. I’ll wait.
