Relative versus Absolute Keys

I was doing a tutorial with relative vertex keys and came across the absolute vertex key menu. What is it? I haven’t seen any tutorials on this. What is it used for?Thanks.

With relative vertex keys, you can mix many keys one of top of another. Normal vertex keys only allow transition from one key to another.
