I’m currently in the midst of remaking a mobile game I released back in 2023:
Read more information on the game here (Highly recommend, or you probably won’t know what I’m talking about here.):
Since I’m currently eyeing Armory3d at the moment, I want to give updates about the 3d modeling aspect of the development here. I think starting on a smaller project is helpful when you’re making a game in a new engine.
Right now, I’m working on the player model. I don’t have V1.03’s full model on me, so I’ll have to work with what I got, which is the VROID file.
So first, I change her skin texture to more accurately match her 2d render.
VRioid Beta base texture:
New texture:
2d render:
I also made her lip fuller.
Now she’s in Blender and I’m currently making her hair.
The bangs (upside down Toblerone) are made with a plane.
The rest of the hair? I kinda have a tip:
Instead of using curves, I actually used a cube. Here’s what I did.
- Add/Don’t delete the default cube.
- Pose and resize the cube to where you want the hair strand to start.
- Add subdiviion modifer. (Ctrl + 1 or 2 [above your letters])
- Go to Edit mode.
- Delete the side faces.

- Extrude, pose and resize your cube to make your hair.
Boom.
It is LITERALLY the same thing, but now you have more control over it. None of this extraccuricular “Add the circle, pose it to make a hairstrand shape, eyedrop select the circle…” stuff just to make a hairstrand. A cube is all you need.
In the photo, I have my subdivision set to 2. I need to crank it backwards to 1. More optimized that way. It’s gonna look… ugh… up close, but from where the camera is going to posed in the game, I don’t think you’ll notice. I need to make this as optimized as possible.
I would remake the eyelash and brows after this stage, but it won’t matter.
I made the clothers in Marvelous Designer in the 1.03 version of the model, but I don’t have it, so I need to make my own; which is probably for the best.
Just normal 3d modeling programming for me. I learned ALOT of stuff from 2023 to now. After making the player, I just need to model a few more assets. That’s it. Then I test out Armory 3d.
Perhalps maybe I can put the assets in the Sto? Who knows?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
Have a nice day! ![]()
