Renaming armature breaks library override

So I have an armature named “Armature” which is a rig that is being referenced by all of my animation .blends. I need to rename it, but when I do, the animation .blends break. The rig no longer animates and I cannot go into pose mode, it seems as if the link to the rig file has broken. Oddly, the mesh still animates. Any expert riggers know what’s going on and how to fix it? Here is a picture.
