Render A Lacrosse Stick

Hello, I am relatively new to blender other than making a few basic shapes and stuff. I’ve spent about a week looking at tutorials and working through some tutorials, but now I want to get down to business. Im looking to make an application that requires a 3d model of a lacrosse head. For those who dont know, this is the shape i want to model:

I plan on doing the modeling myself, however i am totally lost as to where to start with this. Do you have any tips or suggestions as to how to approach this, or any helpful tutorials that i should look at?

thanks,
koobert

I haven’t done too much of this stuff yet so I may be off-base, but I would start by tracing the open lightbulb shape of the front-on view in an ortho front or top view, and once I get that “lightbulb” shape done, extruding it 6 or so times, then deleting much of the sidewall of that shape to create a rough of that open shape.

The main things you’ll need to understand to do this are the extrude tool (the “select a vertex and ctrl-click to make a line to the click point” varient is probably particuarly useful), and face creation and polygon fills. There’s a few tutorials around on loading images into 3d views and tracing them.
