Render not looking like in viewport

Hi there ! I’ve been following a tutorial but so far I have no idea why my render is so far from looking like in my viewport. Idk what’s the reason the shadows are all sort of there when it’s not supposed to be there. I have no idea if it’s explained in the video.

Tutorial on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4kMri55rdE

  1. I tried to realize instances, idk what it’s supposed to do but seems to not work.
  2. I checked all my render settings and nothing works.
  3. I checked my materials and backface culling shadow is disabled.
  4. I checked my camera settings and light settings. Litterally nothing seems to work.

Do I have to add something in my shader nodes ? Geo nodes ? Why is it so complicated ?

My version of Blender is 4.4, the tutorial says to use EEVEE. Idk if I have to change things with the shader nodes and I’m a bit in a “what is going on ?” situation. First time it happened to me.

Welcome!

Could the geometry nodes modifier (in the modifier stack) be set to visible in the viewport, but not the render?

An other possible idea: is your rendering preview set to not use the scene lights in its settings?
settings

No idea how to help! I’m just posting to say I love the feel of the grass in your viewport.

SOLUTION: Apparently modifiers don’t apply in render if your instances are off (your collection on the side menu, the camera icon should be on) I feel a tiny bit stupid to have been trying to find the solution for long enough to then realising it’s that tiny button there. But I guess it’s part of the learning process and now that I know, lesson learned !
