Render pass issue

I have a scene that for some odd reason is rendering in exhaustive passes and making compositing mistakes (as in artifacts.) I have halos, solids, and trans objects. I didn’t see this issue with other similar scenes. I’ve tried single and playing with the layer buttons. No idea what is going on but the render times shot way up and I see a “saving temp file something” for every frame in the console. Thoughts?

No thoughts. How about a screen shot of your render layer set up, and possibly your nodes, if you have any.

A .blend would be ultimate.

No nodes, all render layers in default positions. I just noticed this scene acting oddly. I’ll see if I can put some shots.
