Render preview turns object black

when i change to render previeww my cube turn to black color even

i had this problem with my first project in blender 3.2 which is this icecream so i thought it would be a problem in my setting , but when i turn to default setting with this cube the same problem happened , if someone could help please

Emission in Principled BSDF is set to black.

nothing happened when i change the emission color to white

the materiel object don’t change color even if i change the color of my base color pannel

Your material is black in property window, he should (be white in first massage) change with color if not, try to add a new material then delete this old material.

new mat
the new one also have the same color

even if i change the color , the materiel color is always black

thanks for every one who want to help me , but i didn’t find any solutions exepct downloading a new version of blender

I know of two ways this can happen:

  • you have an opaque material but the alpha is set to 0
  • your graphics card cannot handle the renderer

I don’t see how the first could be the case here since we can see your material and there’s nothing weird about it (emission is always black by default). Did this happen in Cycles as well?

Did switching to 2.8 solve it? If so, then you might want to install higher versions to see whether this starts happening again. Or maybe we could talk about your graphics card; a newer Eevee might not support it.

I also experienced this… since 3.2 … there seems a change in the principled shader so that do this with my i3-3220 internal intel graphics gose black (linux debian 9… maybe also to old X11…) … if the shader is switched to for examp diffuse it works…

trying this now i think i found some weird a solution:

if the subsurface value is set to 0.1 it works for me in the material preview

but of course the render will have an maybe unwanted subsurface value!!!

(Maybe this is worth a bug report…?? I have to look into this… wanted to upgrad emy debain anyway…)
