Render result not showing same thing as render view?

I’m having trouble getting blender’s render result the same thing I see in object mode + render view

Here’s render view: http://i.imgur.com/BTSW4JT.png

here’s render result: http://i.imgur.com/VlGcur0.png

here is the project file as well: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6jU39F0oQekVDQ2a2dDeVM0d2c

I was following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChPle-aiJuA#t=446.527405 but it didn’t seem to encounter the same issue. perhaps I missed or toggled something. Things were going fine until I got to the “preview render” step, when my render result showed what seemed to be the objects but with no material or lighting. Messed around a bit whit the UV mapping and world > surface and the result got a bit closer but still not what I expected. I was also having issues getting the camera & lamp to display, they are shown in the outline but in 3D view they are invisible.

cheers~

Hi, shell. I see the problem, you were in local view in the viewport which meant that only certain selected objects were visible there. Some objects are on other layers.

You will need to:

  1. Switch to Global view by going to View > View Global/Local
  2. Look for the layer panel (two rectangles with small squares in them in the middle toolbar) and click on the layer with the dot on it.
  3. Move the everything from other layers to layer 1 (press A while on the other layer, press M and click the first layer to move them.

Here is the fixed .blend file if you are having trouble: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B663rnBakW75UjBTRzkwaHZBaFE/view?usp=sharing
