Hi, I just noticed this issue today. I went back working on a “old” 4.4 Blender scene that I knew it was rendering in about 1min and today was rendering in hours; changed back to OpenGL and render times are back to normal. I’m working from a laptop CPU Intel i7 13620H GPU 4050 driver up to date. I someone experimenting the same problem?
Did you try Vulkan in 4.5 (recently released) ?
Vulkan is still being worked, and performance is not there yet.The devs themselves say that, see:
Of course, in your case it seems like a massive regression, so it might be worth bringing on the dev chat, if you can spare the time: https://devtalk.blender.org/t/vulkan-feedback-and-testing/39900/67
Keeping in mind that might not reach the same performance as OpenGL. Moving to Vulkan is more about leaving OpenGL behind, as it pretty much has no support nowadays.
Yes, probably I didn’t explain me well. After I update to Blender 4.5 and learn about Vulkan I decided to try it but when I went back working on that scene I find out the problem. Serching online I also find a related post on Reddit I’ll link it down here.
