Ok so i’ve been doing blender stuff for about a year off and on, until just a few months ago when i found blenderguru and cgcookie.com. now i do it a lot more often. Although i’ve learned a lot i still don’t know a ton.
So i’ve been working on an animation to test what i can do. so i’ve created my animaton done some previews and now want to render the final animation. however the render time is horrible. i have actually a rather good computer, but it still is taking up to two minutes per frame.
the animation should end up being about 30 to 40 seconds long. it has some cloth simulations some smoke simulations, some explosions, and the main texture which consist of raytrace transperancy IOR and mirror reflections(basicly trying to make a glass texture). i also have a wall that is normall maped, and quite a bit of compositing going on.
So my question is, is it possible to even reduce render time on something like this?
If you want to see the preview of the animaton, go to the focused critique and go to Magic Theater.
I hope i got the right forum for this.
