Rendered animation blank - 2.81a, Cycles GPU

I’m not very familiar with this new version of Blender and it’s getting the better of me. I’m trying to render a simple particle system. It renders fine when I press F12 and render a single frame. When I try to render the animation (as pngs), it renders very quickly and spits out blank images. Well, not entierly blank, The images render the checkerboard that’s in the background on transparent film setting!

I’ve never seen anything like this. I’m including the .blend file. The images should be packed into the file, if I did that correctly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi.
Render animation is working fine here with nvidia GPU and Blender 2.81a. Do you use CUDA (nvidia) or OpenCL (ATI)?

Same here with current buildbot. Works on CPU and CUDA.

CUDA. You rendered my file ok? Did you change any settings?

That’s right, render animation worked fine in your file. I have changed only the output folder. What is your GPU? What is your operating system?

Windows 10, Nvidia GTX 960.

I don’t know what could be the cause of the problem. Just in case you do a clean installation of nvidia drivers downloaded from nvidia site (not the ones that Windows installs). And you try the latest development versions:

I have the latest driver. This is weird. I’ll give 2.82a a try. Thanks for having a look.

So much stuff is moved around, maybe I’m doing it incorrectly. Could you explain how you are initiating the render, step by step?

Just “Render” menu > “Render Animation”

Ah. I think I know what I was doing wrong. I’ve been using View > Viewport Render Animation. It’s working now. Thanks for the help!
