Rendered image looks metallic & waxy

A human character was given a light-brown skin texture from a diffuse shader and in addition there was a glossy shader, with fac=0.3. The character had a separate hair piece attached.
In the cycles render, here are the values for some of the tabs:
In ‘Sampling’ section, clamp direct=0; clamp indirect= 2.0; samples=200

Caustics: reflective & refractive buttons ticked; filter glossy=0

The resulting render looks metallic & waxy.
How can it be improved pleased? Image (.png)

.3 fac for glossy is 30% glossy which is too much. For skin, glossy with a roguhness of ~.3 and a mix factor of .01 - .08 is in the right area.

You are right. The gloss proportion was excessive. Your suggested upper limit (.08) was OK but in the end I settled for 0.1
Thanks.

try different glossy types, i like ggx at 0.4 or so roughness. but beckman for more basic, low roghness. this is not an easy thing.

try a high rough mix with low rough glossy instead of diffuse, it will add lighting variance at the cost of brighness.
