Renderfarm.fi volunteer link broken

I want to at least try out volunteering and using the renderfarm.fi open render farm system but the volunteer links (e.g. http://www.renderfarm.fi/team_display.php?teamid=198) seem to be down.

Has anyone got any information that could help?

There are some places that mention there are email links on the “contact” page but I can’t find such a page.

Love the “We’re Hiring” link that takes you to a page that describes everything that is required of the FULL-TIME position, including 3 of C/C++, Java, Python, PHP, Javascript. But then the page goes on to explain that the position doesn’t actual pay anything. The position has been advertised since 2011. Hard to believe that it would be that hard to find a free slave…

Haha. And not just any slave… a slave that has been brought up though a brutal regime of Linux, writes 3 programming languages fluently, understands the complexities of rendering, needs to be creative and wants to relocate to Finland (I guess?)

To be fair, if I could I would had I the money and time spare… I actually would love to learn Finnish ^^

But if you had the money to get there, why would you want to work full time for free there? If you are not getting paid anything you might as well explore the country, meet people, and have fun while learning the language. In fact it would make more sense to work part-time in a coffee shop for minimum wage while there if learning the language and culture was what you wanted to do.

I just find it hilarious that they want someone to work FULL TIME FOR FREE and go through the trouble of listing off all the knowledge and experience that the person needs to bring with them. But they don’t even bother trying to show what that person will get out of their voluntary slavery. So surprised that nobody is taking them up on their generous offer… LOL

In the UK, there are plenty of unpaid work placements like this - and I genuinely do think they are a valuable experience, though it is a bit odd that they are expecting such great qualities in there intern. I guess if you ask for someone like this, you may just get one someday - there is a lot of people in the world!
