Rendering a product with transparent colors - Picture for online Color-survey

Hi Guys,

I am facing a challenge. I’m working on a smart-wallet, and we want to prepare a picture for a survey regarding colors. This would need all colorful parts to have transparency but shades and reflections included. I thought about using glass on those parts, however that case things would be visible behind… Is there a way to use glass yet make things invisible behind the first layer of material? I was trying to achieve something that works and fairly realistic with photoshop but without much success.

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Bence

Not sure I understand fully, but maybe use light path/transmission depth to shade something not glass?
Maybe use custom glass built from gloss and transparency (non refractive). Maybe some holdout shader combo thingie?
Really just thinking out loud, this is out of my usual stuff.
