Rendering for HD?

Any pointers in rendering for 720p or 1080p? I’d like to make files I can encode with windows movie maker 2 to play on my PC with HD display.

I’ve played with some rendering settings, but can’t seem to get it right.

Thanks,

Chuck

simply set the resolution to what you need and render in a format that wmm2 understands. maybe an uncompressed avi (“avi raw” in blender) will do, if not try to directly use the ms mpeg4 codec.

avi raw will get big pretty quickly

rendering to any compressed codec in blender is a bad idea

however, It doesn’t seem entirely clear how to convert sequenced animations into wmv using microsoft’s encoder, you ought to be able to use virtualdub to do the same thing [I haven’t personally used virtualdub, but it does more than just encode]
