hellow
i have AMD radeon R9 200 series graphic card.
i did some searching and it seems GPU rendering is not suported for this graphic card? please correct me if wrong.
If i bought new graphic card NVIDIA which is supported. could i combine both graphic cards so NVIDIA would be the primary card so i could use gpu. but would AMD card make rendering faster ? or is just the power of the first card?
thanks!
you can use both cards in one system, but you cant use them together as 1.
so the one you put in the 1st pci slot will be used as main, for everything.
if you really want sli(nvidia) or crossfire(amd) then you need 2 cards of the same type, series, speed, etc.
in general use one of the cards to avoid driver conflicts. also the 200 series should be supported.
if the 200 is the best option for it probably not, its a gaming card.
Hi and yes, the R9 200 is supported since 2.77 iirc.
Look for User Preferences > System > Compute Device and set to OpenCL.
Then switch to GPU in render settings.
