Rendering halos etc with fisheye camera?

Hi, I’ve been using the Ott planetarium fishey camera setup (attached) which uses raytracing on a reflective convex shape to obtain the fisheye.

A limitation of this approach is that I seem to be unable to view halos and possibly other similar objects.

Can anyone tell me why this is, and if there is a workaround?
