I have a minute of animation to render… it will take a long time to do.
Is there a way to break the job up into pieces? How does it work?
Will I need any other software to stitch the pieces together?
Does the audio or video format matter?

Render as a sequence of still images and you can start and resume at will. Once the render is complete, you can use the VSE to string them together and make a single video file.
Ooh cool. What’s the VSE and how does it work?
How can I convert between video formats? How do I add the audio?
Also, how do I output the renders in single frames?

It’s blender video editor, you can edit video, images & audio. It has the basic editing tools & transitions. Using it for the first time might be hard, because of its unique approach. I myself use it every day, and (despite the many crashes during Alt+A) I really love it.
How can I convert between video formats?
Most formats can be played in VSE. The output depends on your output setting in render properties.
How do I add the audio?
In the VSE header, look for ‘Add’. Or press Shift+A
Also, how do I output the renders in single frames?
Under ‘Output’ in the render properties. When opening default blender it’s on the right side.
Awesome!
I think I have a handle on this. Between these responses, and this video I found,
I think I’m good to go!
Thanks everyone!
